I am writing with news of a personal and professional decision regarding the non-profit Foundation of Open Hearts. You are receiving this letter because you have attended an FOH event or been an asset to the administration of one of our speaker’s series, holiday gatherings, A Course in Miracle meetings or the Camps for Miracles. Today I am preparing to dissolve the non–profit corporation.
As I think about the last eleven years of gatherings, my heart swells with gratitude and peace. I am so deeply appreciative of all of you who have been an integral part of my passion and lifework… to open the heart to the truth of Self as Love incarnate in the world. The Foundation has provided a priceless opportunity to fulfill that personal vision and to live in holy relationship with Jesus, my dear Friend, Jesse. Jesse has led me to you. I am sincerely grateful to know you.
These eleven years have been a time for sharing, for gathering people and circles, for expanding community and discovering the Law of Spirit. It has resulted in divine joining and a holy education that taught me of a Sonship, and apostolic community. In these eleven years Love has manifested through me. I see its supremacy. But I know it is not the form or the foundation. It is the formless. It is the Effect of God painting my life.
Today my Guidance calls for a definition of service, projects and relationships where I can sow new seeds. The real foundation has always been within me and cannot be shaken or dissolved. My inner house is undivided in devotion to Christ. It is my desire that the outer activities continue to bear the imprint of Love’s Design.
Practically speaking, there are some seemingly complex reasons for dissolving the corporation. Mostly, it is a result of my wanting to be free of the paperwork, bureaucracy and expense involved in reviving our 501.3 c status. We have on the advice of my CPA, not filed tax reports for a few years because we made so little profit. We are now being asked to file those reports and other documents to keep our status. Both the expense and the work involved feels to me like a detour from more important endeavors.
As a corporation we have never made much money. Fund-raising and solicitation has not been my forte. We have made enough money to pay presenter stipends, cover our costs for events and finance our retreats. This has been deeply rewarding! I have happily donated countless hours (as have so many of you) to making these events a success. We have had great success in following the plans of Spirit and in At-One-ment.
This is the perfect time for change. In my personal life, my youngest child is going off to college. I am looking forward to this as much as grieving it. The empty nest feels purposeful in that I have a longing to make room for What desires space in me.
Our board of directors is supportive of this decision. I have also shared my thoughts with Robert Leroy, President of Open Doors – Classroom for the Universal Course. Open Doors would be designated as the recipient of our funds.
In order to assure a smooth transition and use of the money in keeping with our mission, I would have an opportunity to sit on their Board of Directors. I would have a voice in their future productions, at least for a time. This feels right to me, and continues to leave an opening for events like those of The Camp for Miracles or a Miracles Conference. I realize however, that Spirit takes care of these things whether or not we have non-profit foundations or personal motivations. And I am certain there would be volunteers and benefactors for any inspiration of God.
So this is my letter of appreciation and thanksgiving for your support over these years. And it is a proclamation of trust in something NEW, I am not yet privy to the what of it, but as I open my heart to make room, most assuredly IT WILL COME.
